The 35th Annual Sports Medicine Symposium, presented by the OrthoCarolina Sports Medicine Center, will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
This continuing education seminar features presentations centered around prevention, assessment and management of selected injuries of the shoulder. Tailored for Physicians, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapists, Physician Assistants, Athletic Trainers and healthcare professionals involved in the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletes.

Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:
- Describe shoulder anatomy and how it relates to dysfunction
- Describe common physical exam principles of the shoulder
- Describe current concepts of diagnosis, management and surgical treatment of common athletic shoulder injuries
- Apply key concepts in the design of shoulder and UE rehabilitation programs for athletes including:
1. Clinical Pearls of Early Post Operative Shoulder Rehab
2. Improving Neuromuscular Control of the Shoulder to Prepare for Return to Sport Training
3. Late Stage Rehab and Return to Sport Considerations for the Overhead Athlete
30 days or more prior to the symposium: registration fee will be refunded less $10 (cancellation fee). 29 to 8 days prior to the course -50% refund will be issued. 7 days or less prior to the course - no refunds will be issued.
The symposium organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a course ten (10) days prior to the course start date. Any person who has registered for the course will be notified by email at the address noted in the symposium participants database. Costs incurred by the registrant, such as airline or hotel penalties are the responsibility of the registrant.
